Line Arcade is a 2D pixel art game. It encapsulates the feel of vintage arcade games, 80's style. It was made for a "Build A Toy" class, in which we had to prioritise a core gameplay toy, instead of the narrative. Its core mechanic focuses on line-drawing based interaction. The game aims to give the player the chance to freely decide about their tactics and approach in an "endless" type of gameplay.
In this project my role focused mainly on scripting. Using C#, I programmed most of the mechanics of the game, including:
line drawing,
spawning,
point systems + high score system,
timer,
UI controls (main menu navigation; pause, restart, resume function; volume control)
audio system.
Alongside my role as a coder, I also took an active part in deciding on the art direction and overall design of the game.
